Bulgarian Martenitza (Baba Marta)

The custom that begins with tying the Martenitza on friends and family on the first of March, culminates with the recipient tying the Martenitza onto a flowering tree or bush after the sighting of the first buds of spring, or the first stork, whichever comes first.
