Monastery of Saint Stefano The Holy Monastery of Saint Stefano was in the beginning a men’s monastery but since 1961 operates as a nunnery. The monastery was founded by Saint Andonios in the beginning of the 15th century. The Saint Filotheos towards the middle of the 16th century rebuild the church of Saint Stefano. Later towards the end of 16th century the first frescos were made on the walls of the church. In 1978 during the reing of the Bishop of Stagon Paisios from the Kalampaka’s village Klinovos and abbot Ambrosios the today’s katholiko of the church was built in honor of Saint Charalambos who's holy head is kept there as the most Holy and miraculous relic.
